California Underground Storage Tank Designated Operator
As of January 1st, 2005 all underground storage tank operators must name a Designated UST Operator who has passed the "California UST Designated Operator" certification exam. AQCS Environmental will act as your Designated Operator and provide all required inspections and training.
UST Designated Operator service includes:
- Review alarm log for previous month
- Check that each alarm condition documented was responded to appropriately
- Inspect spill containers, under-dispenser containment areas and containment sumps (as required) for the presence of hazardous materials, water, or debris
- Verify the location of monitoring equipment in the areas mentioned above to ensure that they are in the proper position to detect a leak at the earliest possible opportunity
- Verify that all required testing and maintenance has been completed and document the dates these activities occurred
- Verify that all critical employees are trained
- Provide facility-specific training that includes the operation of the UST system in a manner that is consistent with “Best Management Practices”
- Provide environmental compliance inspection report
- Review the environmental compliance inspection report with the owner/operator and alert them of any condition discovered during the inspection that may require their attention or action
